Early Learning Experiences And Opportunities

Stella Sanford Child Development Centers, consist of four sites. The main building at 1724 Geneva, serves children ages 2-10 years old. West High Infant Center, located within West High School, serves ages 0-23 months. We serve students of Sioux City School District as well as community members within West High School. As part of a collaboration with SCSD's Preschool Intitiative, we have two preschool sites located within Liberty Elementary, serving 4 year olds. Throughout the summer, we engage school age children in programming at our Liberty site.

In all of our programs, the focus remains the same, the child's social-emotional development. Through play and planned experiences, teachers provide opportunities for children to "take in" the environment around them. Through an atmosphere of participatioin and communication, parents are encouraged to involve themselves in their childs early learning. We believe seeing the family holistically involves support in every aspect of that child's life.
