Health Education

Health outreach initiatives focus on providing information to the general public through health fairs, presentations, classes, or school sponsored activities. Topics include teen pregnancy, abstinence education, breastfeeding, and parenting skills. Additional programming is available for multicultural participants, including comprehensive prenatal classes for Spanish-speaking families.

The Crittenton Center nursing staff is available to other agency programs for education, assessment and directives.

First Aid, CPR, and Medication Manager classes are offered both internally and externally. An on-call nurse is available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year to provide assistance with illnesses, medically related emergencies, oversight of dispensing medication, and other medical concerns related to children at the Crittenton Center for Shelter and Youth Development.
