The Board of Directors of Crittenton Center, formed a partnership with Tanager Place, a non-profit agency in Cedar Rapids in 1999.
The alliance between Crittenton Center and Tanager Place involves a consulting contract between the two agencies. The contract also includes oversight and services provided by Tanager Place in the areas of accounting, human resources, community relations and technology.
Although geographically apart, Crittenton Center and Tanager Place are very similar in many ways. Both have served their respective communities since the late 1800’s. They share similar philosophies regarding mission. In addition, both agencies are a major provider of children’s services in each community.

SHIP (Siouxland Human Investment Partnership)
Siouxland Human Investment Partnership (SHIP) was designated the Empowerment Board for Woodbury County in 1999. Empowerment is the Iowa Early Childhood initiative that was established through legislation in 1998. SHIP is also the designated Decategorization Board (DCAT) for Woodbury County. DCAT is a collaborative child welfare, juvenile justice planning process. SHIP has evolved to position itself as an organization that is capable of administering initiatives with a Health, Human Service, Education and Public Safety focus and has a scope of pre-birth to death. SHIP is a collaborative board that currently has 25 members serving the Siouxland area.
